Installation Steps

1. Shut Off the Water

Before doing anything else, make sure the water supply to your shower is fully turned off. This avoids any unexpected water flow while you're working.

2. Take Off the Existing Showerhead

  • If there's already a showerhead in place, twist it off gently.
  • A firm grip with your hand usually does the job — grab an adjustable wrench if it's stuck.
  • Watch out for trapped water that may drip out as you remove it.

3. Wipe Down the Shower Arm

  • With the old showerhead off, give the threaded tip of the shower arm a thorough cleaning.
  • Remove any leftover plumber's tape, mineral residue, or grime so the threads are fresh and ready.

4. Wrap the Plumber's Tape

  • Grab the plumber's tape from your Puveau box and wind it snugly around the threads of the shower arm.
  • This creates a watertight seal and keeps drips from forming once you start using it.

5. Fit the Connector

  • Twist the connector onto the threaded end of the shower arm.
  • Tighten it by hand until it feels firm — avoid forcing it, since over-tightening can crack the threads or connector.

6. Connect the Hose

  • Attach one end of the hose to the connector you just put in place.
  • Hand-tighten until it feels secure — no need to crank it down hard.

7. Mount the Showerhead

  • Take the free end of the hose and screw it into your Puveau showerhead.
  • Tighten by hand until it sits firmly in place.

8. Switch the Water Back On

  • Open the water supply slowly so pressure can build up at a steady pace.
  • Inspect every connection — the showerhead, hose, and connector — for drips or leaks.
  • Spot a leak? Just tighten the affected connection a little more until it stops.

9. Set the Angle

  • Tilt the showerhead to whatever angle feels best for you.

10. Run a Test

  • Turn the shower on and check that water is flowing the way it should.
  • Do one final leak check and make any small tweaks if needed.

Tips for a Smooth Installation

  • Keep a towel or small container nearby to catch any water that drips out when removing the old showerhead.
  • Always tighten by hand only — tools can crack or strip the parts.
  • Still seeing leaks? Add another wrap of plumber's tape around the threads and try again.
